With a 140-year legacy of educating and empowering women, The Women’s College of Brenau University presents the Executive Women’s Master of Business Administration, a program designed to catapult talented women to the next level of their careers.
This program is specifically designed to equip and promote uniquely driven women who are currently successful in the workplace but looking to advance to the C-suite. The Executive Women’s MBA is provided through a flexible platform that combines cohort and independent learning through online experiences and extended weekend residencies that employ interactive learning at the most significant financial and commercial centers in the world. This is an opportunity for 40 students to be among the inaugural class that will convene in January 2022. Brenau’s highly selective approach guarantees an optimum personal and productive student-faculty ratio and a networking environment with peers and thought leaders within the Executive Women’s MBA cohort, forging relationships that will support and guide the students throughout their careers.
In keeping with the personal career goals of these women, the Executive Women’s MBA will feature courses, content and conversations that address the gender-specific challenges facing their careers woven into the rigorous and innovative coursework that has become the hallmark of excellent MBA programs for which Brenau is known. Stressing the application of course material to actual case studies and real-life situations, the professors and guest speakers are successful, experienced women who have lived as examples of success in their fields.
In preparation for this highly innovative experience, Brenau is working closely with industry leaders to form partnerships, especially with those companies with a track record of women in the C-suite, to ensure women have access to the most relevant, contemporary business knowledge and the opportunity to learn alongside other strong, capable women.
Presented by
The Executive Women’s MBA brings today’s thought leaders into the classroom and into the discussion. Whether speakers, panelists or conversation group participants, these women ranging from authors and executives to entrepreneurs and playwrights, share their unique experiences and share their insights.
Residencies are a defining component of the Executive Women’s MBA program at Brenau University. They are a time of intensive personal, professional and academic development designed to provide students with information about the program, foster meaningful interactions among the cohort, faculty and other professional women, and prepare students for a successful experience in the program.
At each residency, women will have dedicated time with faculty members to assist them in problem-solving, critical thinking and application of the course material. Additionally, women will have an opportunity to be immersed in a team performance class to work on their program project, engage in simulations and work closely with key members of their faculty. Each residency will focus on a unique aspect of business that will compliment the coursework, helping women to accelerate and deepen their learning.
In addition to a deep academic focus, the residencies will provide opportunities for meaningful and intentional networking among members of the cohort and other professional women. Students will work alongside one another in simulations, workshops and seminars specially designed to address the situations women face in leadership. According to US News & World Report, “the right kind of MBA residency has networking perks that make missing work worth it.”
Finally, the residencies will be a time for students to be fully present and to focus on their personal and professional development. At each residency, students will focus on new aspects of their career journeys and take time to focus on self care and personal sustainability.
The partnership between two of Brenau’s most innovative and academically rigorous units provides a focused leadership opportunity to a small cadre of driven women. The need is great and the time is now: In 2018 only 4.8 percent of Fortune 500 CEOs were women, and that was down from 6.4 percent in 2017. Social research clearly demonstrates that commercial and societal success and fulfillment are only reached when women achieve their full potential and contribute to cumulative success at levels equal to men. The Executive Women’s MBA at The Women’s College of Brenau University aspires to help women reach that potential.
The Executive Women’s MBA features a hybrid online and on-ground program that offers the flexibility that busy women need with opportunities for networking and community they want. It provides these opportunities while focusing the curricular and cocurricular content specifically on the unique challenges women face, something no other MBA program does. The Brenau Executive Women’s MBA fosters multiple avenues to the pinnacle of personal success to a woman, designed and taught by successful women at a time when there is no greater need.
